Where it comes from
Sounds like this typically come from wildlife field recordings or nature-documentary audio, where a close-mic take of dolphin vocalisations is trimmed to the loudest few seconds and pitched up. The same clip then circulates through meme packs and soundboards until it reads as a stock comic giggle.
How to use it
- TikTok: landing the punchline on a failed cooking attempt, cut in right after the pan starts smoking.
- Twitch: rewarding a chat message with the laugh when a streamer misses an easy shot.
- Discord: firing it in voice chat the moment someone walks into a trap they were warned about.
What does a dolphin laugh sound like?
It is a rapid series of high, chattering squeaks and clicks that rises and falls like a giggle. The pitch sits well above most speech, which is why it reads as comic rather than natural.
Is this the dolphin laugh used in meme edits?
It is the same style of clip that circulates in meme videos and soundboards, delivered here as a standalone file just over eight seconds long. Drop it wherever a short animal giggle fits.
Can I use it in a video edit?
Yes, it downloads as an MP3 you can place in memes, streams and short edits. Check the terms of the platform you upload to before publishing.
